Sitalpati, also called sital pati and sittal pati.

Sitalpati are made from cane or from murta plants, known in different places as mostak, patipata, patibet and paitara. The murta plant grows around the water bodies.

Sitalpatis are natural mats which are cold to touch. Mats with motif designs are called nakshi patis and are made by the indigenous tribes in colours with the beautiful designs of flora and fauna. These mats are traditionally hand-woven with respect to the cultural heritage of India and Bangladesh.
